Mentor, Editor

I turned 51 this year! I am a preacher’s kid raised in Texas. My dad was called to the ministry as a senior in highschool. He has faithfully served the Lord for 51 years pastoring and is still serving in various ministry capacities. All that to say, thankfully, I have been taught Godly Biblical Expository preaching for all 50 years.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love Jesus and have a knowledge of what He did for me. I had a head knowledge of Christ at an extremely early age, but I struggled with assurance of salvation and when I was in the 5th grade I prayed, repented of my sin, confessed Jesus as my Lord and invited Him into my life. I had the privilege of my dad baptizing me in a pond near our church.

I grew in my relationship with Christ and had a yearning to study Scripture for myself. I started to learn Greek as a senior in high school and continued that in college. I went to Criswell College in Dallas in 1988 and felt called to some kind of ministry, at the time I thought it was the mission field.

Sometime in the middle of the fall semester of my Sophomore year, God really got a hold of me and began asking me if I was just going to be saved or was I going to be a whole-hearted follower of Christ? Would I be willing to follow Him in whatever direction He led? I agreed.

Later that summer, I left school and traveled with a ministry called Life Action, out of Buchanan Michigan. It was a revival ministry where we spent anywhere from 2 or 3 weeks in a church, preaching and seeking God for revival. I had the distinct honor of Nancy DeMoss being my boss and a mentor.

During my year with LAM, my dad took a church in Memphis, TN and at the end of that year instead of going back to college in Dallas, I felt led to move to Memphis.

I immediately got involved in the College Ministry and began serving in Broadmoor Baptist Church. I met a guy there named Kevin and we got married 2 years later. Kevin always wanted to serve in the Marine Corps and that’s where he felt led. I figured, if I felt called to missions -what better way than to go on the mission field than at the Government’s expense…

Kevin and I have faithfully served in every church we have been a part of during our whole Marine Corps years. I have served in Women’s Ministry in Fallbrook, California, Okinawa, Japan and Norfolk, VA. I have served as Children’s Minister in Beaufort, SC and Women’s Ministry in Okatee, South Carolina. For the last 10 years, Kevin and I have both served in the Student Ministry for Grace Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA and continue to do that. Kevin has led our Homeless Ministry at Grace for the past 5 years and I have supported him to some extent in that ministry.

Our greatest mission field has been our family. We have three kids, Kevin Graham 26. Kevin is a police officer and a Marine Reservist in the Memphis area. He is married to Kendall and they have Kinley (almost 2 ) and Kevin “Graham” Jr arriving this month. They both love the Lord and are faithful members of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis. Our daughter, Mariana is 21 and is a senior at Liberty University in Lynchburg. She is a business/project management major. She works for King’s Wild Project and is an intern for my business. Ana is dating Tyler, she thinks he is the one and Tyler is called to pastor. Joshua is our 19 year old. Joshua is a Freshman and is attending a community college in Northern VA. Joshua is a gifted musician, but feels called to preach and pastor.

In my spare time I own a business called Nomadés Collection. I co-own it with 3 of my closest friends.

I love God’s Word! My spiritual gift is prophet (forth telling not foretelling) This is a hard gift to have…I am passionate and sometimes that comes across as harsh. God is molding me into “truth and love” on the daily. Teenagers get on my last nerve, but God has given me a heart to mentor them…so I do. I am an avid reader… currently I am reading through Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin. I am teaching students on Sunday. My small group (8 ladies) is working through  “Knowing The Living God” by Paul David Washer.
