Who is this Christ I speak of? Jesus Christ is Incomparable to anyone in my life, even my favorite peeps – my family. They, like all relationships, lead to disappointment and even frustration at one time or another. God never made another human being to be the “be-all, end all” for you and I. He made us first for relationship with Himself, through His Son.
The qualities and characteristics I have learned about Christ are….
Incomprehensible
He knows me better than I know myself & all His qualities combined. The more I study Him, the more I realize there is always something to learn about Him.
Closest friend
He has comforted me when no one else could or knew how.
My Righteousness
Without Christ’s righteousness imputed to me, I am nothing.
Comforter
16 moves in 24 years called for an immeasurable amount of comfort as a navy spouse.
Husband
When Navy hubby was deployed, He is who I sought for wisdom and counsel.
Protector
In the physical state, from words which shouldn’t be shared, situations which shouldn’t have happened, doors that were closed
Joy
When the world & the devil wants to steal and take it.
Hope
Without Him I’d be void of hope – for eternity, tomorrow, & the state of my soul.
Lifter of my head
He has numbered my days and graced me to even write this blog.
Strength
When I am weak – 17 years of homeschooling will show one just how weak they are.
Savior
Who else do I have but Him?
Sanctification
He has promised to complete the good work He has begun to do in me.
High Priest
He lives to intercede for me & I can go straight to His throne of grace to find comfort and help in my time of need, the veil has been torn making a way to enter His presence.
Patience
In dealing with this stubborn soul – enough said!
Peace
Through the shed blood of Christ, I have been reconciled to God. I am His child.
My Help
In large tasks & the most minute of tasks, deployments & being asked to do the unthinkable, whenever I ask for Help, He gives it – as a wife, as a mom, as a friend, whether ministering to others or helping me to keep my mouth shut.
Compassionate
When I do the things I don’t want to do, whatever concerns me concerns Him
Wisdom
This was the cry of my heart that first year I was saved: Lord give me wisdom above all else.
Defender
When people have accused me and say ill of me, when the enemy accuses me in the presence of My Lord – “look at her, she screwed up again”- CHRIST defends me! Rom 8:1
Provider
For all things huge, small, and even the intangible, mysteriously unspoken – often without me even asking…
Atoning Sacrifice
The anthem to my faith
The calm in every storm
Only He can do this
Prepared a place for me in heaven
16 moves has this soul longing to go to my heavenly home. No more moving, no more goodbyes, no more time restraints, & in His loving presence forever.
Judge
He alone will right every wrong done in my life – even the wrongs I’ve done to others.
Grace giver
Through every role I’ve been asked to do, He has been faithful.
Mercy unending
Daily, throughout the day.
Inexhaustible
He never says, “Claire, you’re too much. You come to me too much.” He takes me in all my neediness.
Teacher
My best teachers came through sports which were a major part of my upbringing, so I see this role of teacher/coach in the heart of Christ.. He is FOR me, always desiring to stretch me beyond what is comfortable – those are the best coaches – they see the end result of their athlete, despite knowing the pain it will take to get there! “Keep going, one more time, get back up.” Those coach yelling sessions have been replaced with a gentle whisper – to persevere, get back up, try again, I’m with you.
Salvation
Not only for eternity, but the day to day needing to be saved and help in situations.
Love
The God of the Universe loves me, because He first loved me.
Sovereign
In all of my wrestling adventures, this doctrine has given me freedom & peace & security which surpasses nearly all qualities.
My goal is Christ.
My heart longs for you to say the same.
Hoping you’ll stay with me on this journey of knowledge of the Son of God and Son of Man as we humbly walk with Him, surpassing what current knowledge we have of Him, ever learning, ever growing and sometimes doing a little wrestling.
